What is Scoopim?
Scoopim is a place to read and discuss news, threads and quick posts, organised in communities by topic. Read more on the about page.
Do I need an account?
Not to read: everything public is open to everyone. You need an account to vote, comment, post, follow people and communities, and to send messages. Signing up takes a username, an e-mail address and a password, or one tap with "Continue with Google".
Which languages does Scoopim speak?
The whole site, from the menus to the e-mails, is available in 22 languages. Pick yours from the language menu in the header, the menu drawer or the footer; Scoopim remembers it. You can read and write in any language you like: each thread and post carries its own language. The Hebrew home page, scoopim.com/he/, shows what is written in Hebrew.
How do I share a thread or a post?
Tap the Share button next to it. The link it gives you opens in the language you were reading in, so the person who receives it sees the same page you did. "Copy link" in the More menu gives the same link.
Is there an app?
Yes, for Android and iOS. When the app is installed, a Scoopim link opens in the app; otherwise it opens in your browser.
Why are there ads?
Ads help pay for running Scoopim. They come from Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob in the apps, appear between posts, and never appear inside direct messages. Where the law requires it we ask for your consent before personalised ads. See the privacy policy for details and for how to opt out.
Is Scoopim open source?
Scoopim's own source code is published under the AGPL-3.0 and is available at /source.
How do I report a problem or content that breaks the rules?
Use Report on the thread, post, comment or profile. The moderators of the community and the site administrators review reports. For anything else, write to support@scoopim.com or use the contact page. The rules are in the terms of service.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account, in the app or on the website. You can also write to support@scoopim.com to ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted. The privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long.
